I thought I was clear on this. I DOWNLOADED THEM ALL.

The Red No Guest show is 26:47 file size 267 mb
Carol Channing guests is 29;24 file size 293 mb
Amanda Blake Guests is 29:18 file size 292 mb
Franklin Pangborn guests is 28:22 file size 282 mb
Ed Sullivan Guests is 28:06 file size 280 mb
Virginia Gregg Guests is 25:53 File Size 258 mb
Mary McCarty Guests is 29:09 file size 290 mb
George Raft Guests is 29:22 file size 293 mb

These are all encoded to VCD ready mpeg 1 ( 320 x 240--1150 kbs) which in short means 10 mb = 1 minute of video. I encoded these in the mid ninties and was some of my first trade bait. I never encode to Mpeg1 any more and now only encode to Xvid avi. Also you stated that the average Avi 30 minute show is around 175 mb, That would be a very bare minimum and I would only use that for shows that are under 23 minutes because it drops the kbs per sec average too low to make a nicely flowing encode and would end up with jerky motions in fast moving objects and pixalation. The Beverly Hillbilly encodes are 233 mb for an average of 25 minutes of video. For a true 30 minute show I would use a higher setting like 278 mb or if it was alot of Fast motion I would up it to 350 mb.

What I do not understand is you gave advice to others how to spot small uploads but didnt check to see if you indeed had the whole file before stating that your inability to download the whole show was my fault. Surely it isnt hard to check to file size listed on the download page against the file size downloaded.

I am sorry you are having trouble with the downloads, IA ( God Love Em ) try their very best to keep everything going smoothly but look at the scope of whats they have going on here, From the Movies sections to the live music archive down to our little section here. there are bound to be bumps in the road once in a while.

I know how to download shows, in spite of the format for doing that being different on this website than most other sites.

The Red No Guest show, which you said is 267 MB , was only showing as a partial length (I don't recall exactly what it was) before I started to download it. The same goes with the Carol Channing episode and two other episodes

I'm not saying you're wrong or mistaken, but my theory is that this has something to do with the IA having some technical glitches lately (such as the search database not working) only this is more serious.

The Mary McCarty, Amanda Blake, and George Raft shows I didn't try because I already have them in the DVD collections I bought.

I agree with the above statement. The statement below is what I took offense to.

>Actually you did it correctly. Some of those files people are uploading lately are only partial scenes of those shows. Those Red Skelton episodes are about 13 minutes instead of 25 minutes, so much of the episodes are missing. Fortunately I have most of them complete on DVD already, but some people are screwing up when they upload. <

btw the defender ep you download matches the file size i uploaded. I am not sure why the File size listed in IA is different. Overhead of some sort maybe, as it happens with every file. 780 MB (818,900,992 bytes) is the correct size.
